Planning is underway for the Ziner Family and a team of volunteers to return to Costa Rica for several weeks this summer to work in Finca 2, a village just outside the Dole plantation, where we served last year.
We simply ask that you would consider supporting us financially and prayerfully, this year. Those who have helped in the past are the reason for all of the success in this one small village. This is such a wonderful opportunity for us to continue what God started last year. We will again need to raise support in order to grow what has been planted.
The relationships we made last year with different people in the village, have produced much fruit.
An outdoor bathroom facility that Larry helped build has served the family relocated from the earthquake and their extended family of approximately 18 people, eliminating the need for an outhouse.
This family cooks for our teams when we come and currently their outdoor kitchen is falling apart. (see photo below). They also do not have a sink in which to wash their hands. We would like to raise funds to repair the kitchen while we are there.
Since our last visit, the same family has begun a children's church on their land, which currently has over 30 committed kids attending twice a week. Many of these kids are those we gathered and shared the love of God with while there. We hope to provide them with knowledge and wisdom through appropriate but fun activities that they would not otherwise be exposed to.
We have been contacted personally by the principal of the school we taught in, requesting our return. We have been asked to teach workshops to kids in every grade including middle school and high school. We have been told that the way we communicated basic life skills to the kids created lasting changes in behavior.
To accomplish these things, it will take much work and support. But we trust that God will have His way and many lives will be improved by all of our obedience. To date, we have raised enough support to travel but are still in need of funding for the specific projects.
