We've Only Just BegunOur team of 7 have arrived and are getting settled for the night in San Jose Costa Rica at our missionary friends Ted and Graciela's home before our trek to the village in the morning. Athough we were all overtired from lack of sleep and were starting a little behind in energy, God showed us a preview of reality before we even left Charlotte.
All the girls made a trip to the restroom before boarding the plane and were greeted by a lovely restroom attendant. With a huge white toothed grin she greeted us with a "Welcome to Valerie's Happy Restroom" and then for the time we were in there she sang, "You Are My Sunshine"! When finished I commented that she had a wonderful attitude to which she replied,"Why, Yes, of Course. This is where I am right now and wherever God calls me I am going to be excellent and have a joyful and content attitude." Wow, what an amazing reminder! Ouch! 
As our Pastor Jonathan regulary says, "Wherever you are is your Venue" Today that woman's venue was the restroom and she sure shined~ Our prayer is that we too can shine this week while we are in a sometimes difficult but very joyous place. Our friends reminded us tonight that we are God's ambassadors and that this is the time we are to be connectors between people of different cultures. Isn't that the way we should be everyday? We appreciate your prayers~
